No, gratuity is not included or required, but greatly appreciated of course! ✦ How long do services last? Soft Gel: 2-3 weeks Aprés Gel Extensions: 3-4 weeks Structured or Hard Gel: 3-5 weeks (Fill-in within 2-3 weeks) Retention and durability of all services will depend on the condition of your natural nail and lifestyle (environment/activities). Nail repairs are available to book if damage occurs. ✦ Is an e-file used for services? Yes, the e-file is used to prep the cuticle and natural nail plate as well as for removals of extensions and builder gel. Damage can only be caused to the nail bed by using e-file drill bits that are too course which should never be done. Only fine/med grit bits are used which are gentle on the nail bed. ✦ REMOVALS Destine Nails does NOT remove foreign hard gel which is builder gel that cannot be soaked off and wasn’t done by me. Removal of SNS, acrylic, and polygel are bookable for an additional charge of $15-$30 due to being foreign soak offs. Confirm with your previous salon/tech what product was used before booking a soak off. If you have on hard gel from another salon/tech, please arrive with bare nails. Removals, if needed, are an add-on feature found under the ADD-ONS category when booking. This is a requirement to ensure the proper time is locked in. Failure to do so may result in not being able to fulfill the appointment. ✦ How are removals done? Soft Gel Polish: A nail file is used to file away the shiny top layer then wrapped in aluminum with acetone cotton Extensions & Builder Gel: The e-file is used to remove and debulk the gel product until the base layer is exposed. For extensions and soft builder gel, the nails are then wrapped in aluminum with acetone cotton ✦ ADD-ONS ADD-ONS, if needed, must be selected when booking your appointment. Failure to do so may result in not being able to fulfill the service. ✦ DESIGNS Appointments can range from 1.5-4 hours depending on removal, service, and nail art. Please book in advance and the correct service/tier to ensure time is given. Nail art tiers are based on complexity and technique starting from least to most intricate. Always feel free to dm @destinenails nail inspiration for the appointment. I will not be able to upgrade a nail art tier if the time isn’t available nor booked correctly. ✦ What is builder gel and who is it good for? Builder gel is a thicker gel formula used to strengthen and add structure to natural nails by applying an overlay directly on your nails. Adds durability without bulk + helps to grow and maintain natural nail health. It’s great for people who always get shorties (square or almond). Your nails are thin, bendy, or break easily. You prefer a light, natural feel. Soft builder gel is ideal for overlays on short to medium length nails. Hard builder gel is great for longer nail lengths. ✦ What is the difference between hard gel and builder gel? It comes down to terminology! Hard gel is a builder gel, it’s just thicker and tougher in viscosity. The term “builder gel” or “structured mani” is used interchangeably to differentiate the service between hard gel and soft gel for consumers. The biggest difference is that hard builder gel cannot be soaked off, it can only be removed by e-filing the product down. Soft builder gel is acetone removable. Always be sure to clarify with your technician what product is being used. “So what is gel polish?”: Gel polish falls under soft gels, is color only, and done in thin layers. Doesn’t provide structure and used for basic manicures. Lasts 2-3 weeks. ✦ What are Aprés extensions? Aprés is the founding company of the world’s first full coverage, 100% soft gel, extension system called Gel X. Gel X nails are a modern nail enhancement system that utilizes a pre-formed soft gel nail tip that is bonded to the natural nail with a gel adhesive (Extend Gel - not glue) and cured under a UV or LED lamp. There are two different styles to allow for better fit and longer lasting results: Natural and Sculpted. Natural Gel X tips are for flatter nail beds. Sculpted Gel X tips are for curved nail beds. Destine Nails uses Aprés Gel X tips due to high quality, durability, easy soak off, and innovation. Gel X is lightweight, flexible, and gentle on the natural nail. Gel X is best suitable for nails that are NOT damaged, brittle, and/or bitten down. The health of your nails are a factor for retention. Other nail enhancements such as builder gel, hard gel, polygel, or acrylic should be considered to help grow a better foundation for switching to Gel X. A great enhancement for people who like to constantly switch up their length and shape.
